Produced by Zhejiang TV Program Center, the Chinese music variety show "The Treasured Voice Season 7" (abbreviated as "Heavenly Voice 7") premiered last Friday (June 12), and the collaborative stages in the first episode drew much attention.

In the premiere, this season’s "Music Assembler" Joker Xue opened the show with the song "Slowly," followed by Rainie Yang and Jason Wang making an early appearance. The two gave a harmonious performance of "Love River", which was named the recommended golden song (best collaboration of the night).

Chinese singer Jason Wang is known for works such as "Where Has the Time Gone" and "Extraordinary." In an email interview with Lianhe Zaobao, he stated that he was attracted to the show by its pure musical focus: "It’s all about the stage and the music itself—exploring new ways of presenting music. I’m very willing to try and break new ground."

He said the biggest gain from participating was a more relaxed mindset—not only enjoying the stage and collaboration but also having more time to immerse himself in music, leading to more inspiration for future musical expressions.

This year’s program continues the tradition of fully live vocals, emphasizing unedited, authentic singing. On this point, he commented: "Full live vocals are the foundation and confidence of a singer—the real human voice has the most warmth."

Talking about collaborating with Rainie Yang, he described her as extremely serious about the stage, repeatedly checking the equipment and details at every rehearsal. "Her personality is great and very relaxed, making our stage cooperation very harmonious."

On the other hand, singer Yao Xiaotang also mentioned that for her, "Heavenly Voice 7" feels like "returning home," and pointed out that the variety of partners and the introduction of AI reviewers on the show brought a sense of freshness.

She has previously performed classics on the show, such as dueting with Liu Yuning on "The Seat" and singing "Look Into My Eyes and Speak" with Zhang Yuan.

In the first episode, Yao Xiaotang teamed up with Joseph Zeng to sing Jordan Chan’s Cantonese track "Evening Wind at the Corner." She shared that the two quickly built trust due to their shared hometown, making for an efficient and harmonious rehearsal process, "We had great chemistry working together."
