The restive southwestern province of Balochistan in Pakistan experienced a suicide bombing attack on Saturday, resulting in at least 6 deaths and dozens of injuries. Among the deceased are members of Pakistan's paramilitary forces.

A bus carrying the paramilitary force known as the "Frontier Corps" was traveling from the port city of Karachi to the southwestern city of Turbat when it was blown up approximately 7 kilometers west of its destination.

Local senior police officer Rehman said to AFP: “A bus was targeted by a bomb attack, causing at least 6 deaths, including soldiers from the Frontier Corps and civilians, with at least 25 others injured.”

The separatist militant group “Balochistan Liberation Army” has claimed responsibility for the attack.

In recent months, attacks in Pakistan have sharply increased, especially in Balochistan province and the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
