BINTULU: The Tatau Festival 2025 is set to feature over 40 exciting events during its 17-day run from August 29 to September 14 at the Sungai Jatan Community Park, Tatau.

Tatau District Officer, Calvin Ligong Endawie, said the community-based festival not only aims to foster unity and a spirit of togetherness among the multiracial community, but also to boost the local tourism and economic sectors.

“This festival serves as a platform to showcase the uniqueness of the cultural heritage and traditions of the various ethnic groups in Tatau, while also promoting the district as a high-potential tourism destination,” he said.

He made the statement while chairing the Tatau Festival 2025 Coordination Meeting held at the Tatau District Office meeting room on Wednesday.

According to Calvin, the meeting also reviewed key organisational aspects such as logistics, safety, event management, community involvement, and promotional strategies to ensure the festival is carried out smoothly and efficiently.

“The official launching ceremony of the Tatau Festival 2025 is scheduled for September 5 and is expected to draw thousands of visitors from within and outside the district,” he added.

He further emphasised that continued support from various government agencies and the local community is crucial in ensuring the festival grows into a high-impact annual event in central Sarawak.
