(Seria, 6th) – A company was issued a fine by the Tutong District Enforcement Department for violating Section 12(1)(a) of the Rampaian Offences Act 2021 (Chapter 30) by littering in a public place.
The offence occurred in Kampung Sinaut, Tutong District, and the company was fined BND 2,000.
The enforcement department emphasized that the public should always be aware of the offenses listed in official announcements that can be prosecuted under this Act.
The Tutong District Enforcement Department stated that failure to pay the fine within seven days from the date the ticket is issued may result in prosecution. If found guilty, the company will be fined no less than SGD 2,000 and not more than SGD 10,000. For second or subsequent offenses, the penalty may increase to a fine of not less than BND 10,000 but not more than BND 30,000, and may also include imprisonment of up to 12 months, or both.
The enforcement department also reminded the public, companies, and business premises owners to always maintain a clean environment, especially in commercial areas and public spaces, and never litter, dump, or leave any type of garbage in public places.
