Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar stated that rapid economic recovery and empowerment, along with the people's capacity to develop the country, have attracted foreign investors to Malaysia.

He mentioned that while other countries strive to rebound after the pandemic, foreign leaders and businesses have witnessed Malaysia's successful economic growth and the influx of substantial investments.

“I am confident in our capabilities. Malaysia is an extraordinary country. Where else in the world can you find a multi-racial and religious society living in peace?”

“Some countries have suffered setbacks, weakened by scandals, followed by the pandemic. Yet, we are now achieving significant growth, high investments, and becoming a hub for data centers and semiconductors.”

He said this during his speech at the launch of the new look of Alamanda Shopping Center in Putrajaya on Sunday (February 23).

Anwar emphasized that the ability to attract foreign investors relies on the people’s collective effort to develop and uphold the nation’s reputation.

“Why do they invest? Because they see the capabilities of Malaysia and its people.”

“In view of this, we thank the youth, management teams, businesses, and cleaning staff.”

Anwar mentioned that Malaysia is expected to welcome more foreign leaders, including the President of China and the President of South Africa.

“Perhaps during Ramadan, (the visits by national leaders) will be slightly postponed and will resume after April.”
