(Miri, 30th) To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Miri's elevation to city status, the Miri City Council held a press conference for the “Miri City 20th Anniversary Carnival” this afternoon at the Borneo Hall of Pullman Hotel Miri, hosted by Miri Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang, who officially launched a series of rich and exciting celebration activities, inviting citizens and tourists to partake in the grand event.

The theme is “Multiracial Unity Carnival”, aiming to showcase Miri’s unique charm as a city of harmonious coexistence among multiple ethnic groups.
“This carnival will integrate cultural elements from various ethnic groups, presenting multicultural performances, theme exhibitions, a food festival, charity sales, and cultural and creative bazaars. There will also be a Konsert Rakyat concert, featuring performances by local artists such as Baby Shima and Vanessa Reynauld, reaching the climax of the festivities.”
He also specifically thanked the warm support of many sponsoring units, including the gold sponsor SOP Group, bronze sponsor Nippon Oil, 99 Speed Mart, Miri Port Authority, and Sarawak Water Supply Company.
