World Chinese Writers’ Congress Successfully Concludes—International Literary Exchange Flourishes

(S City, 12th) The President of the World Chinese Writers Association, Sun De'an, recently stated that the 12th World Chinese Writers’ Congress was successfully held in 2024 in the capital of Brunei, bringing together Chinese-language writers from around the globe for a grand literary event. The congress attracted about 150 writers from home and abroad to participate in person, and together with cultural figures from all walks of life and literature enthusiasts, the total number of participants approached 700. The atmosphere was enthusiastic, the results fruitful, fully demonstrating the vigorous development and far-reaching impact of Chinese literature on the international stage.
Sun De'an pointed out that this congress is not only an important platform for literary exchange, but also a key opportunity to unite the strength of global Chinese-language writers and to promote the inheritance and innovation of Chinese culture. During the congress, writers engaged in thematic forums, literary lectures, and exchange activities to deeply explore the future direction of Chinese-language literature, strengthen cross-regional cultural ties, and further enhance the status of Chinese literature in the international cultural landscape.
To recognize units and individuals who have long been dedicated to the development and promotion of Chinese literature and have made outstanding contributions to this congress, the World Chinese Writers Association specially selected the "2024 World Chinese Writers Top Ten Contribution Awards." The awardees include: Brunei Chung Hwa Middle School, Brunei Malay Ali Chung Hwa Middle School, Secretary-General of the World Chinese Writers Association Dr. Lai Lianjin, President of the South American Chinese Writers Association Lin Meijun, President of the North American Chinese Writers Association Federation You Pengdan, Vice President of the World Federation of Chinese Literature Dai Xiaohua, President of the World Chinese Micro-fiction Seminar Ling Dingnian, famous children’s literature writer Lin Huanzhang, President of the Indonesian Chinese Writers Association Yuan Ni,
as well as Chairman of the Taiwan Chinese Writers Association, Hong Jinkun.
Sun De’an emphasized that these awarded units and individuals have made outstanding contributions in promoting Chinese-language education, literary creation, and international cultural exchange, and are important forces in the sustained development of Chinese literature. He expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and supporting organizations, and hopes that more literary peers will join in the future to jointly promote Chinese literature onto a broader international stage.
It is also reported that the atmosphere for the 13th World Chinese Writers’ Congress has already entered the social and international sphere. Currently, the Miri Writers' Association is actively preparing to welcome writers participating in the event; a welcoming banner for the "13th World Chinese Writers’ Congress" has been hung in front of the Meritz Hotel. The Miri Writers' Association stated that they will warmly await the arrival of literary friends from all regions, demonstrating the enthusiasm and vitality of Borneo’s regional cultural exchanges.
