Communications Minister Fahmi stated that the government will improve the benevolent package for food and parcel delivery riders (P-Hailing) to ensure that employees fully benefit from it, especially by providing affordable internet services.
He mentioned that the ministry will obtain analysis results from relevant companies to review and study improvements, as previous discussions only involved telecommunications companies and P-Hailing companies.
"Sometimes the information cannot be conveyed to the riders. This is what I discovered. Therefore, we will reassess the implementation method to ensure that riders can truly benefit."
"Our goal is not to help companies, but to help the riders. Therefore, I will request an analysis of the actual number of riders benefiting, and I will ask the department to arrange this matter."
He said this to reporters on Sunday (February 16) during a meeting with Pantai Valley youths. The event attracted about 150 participants, including ride-hailing and P-hailing riders.
Additionally, Fahmi mentioned that he would consider the suggestion made by riders during the Q&A session to establish rest stations, providing spaces for them to rest and pray.
"During the pandemic, riders were on the front lines, helping to deliver food and parcels. Now that normal life has resumed, we still need to pay attention to their welfare, especially the need for basic facilities. Therefore, I will explore what can be done in the Pantai Valley constituency."
