Published at Nov 21, 2025 12:58 pm
(Bandar Seri Begawan, 21st) Brunei Jidaoge Charity Society’s Cultural School has opened, with Shen Renxiang as the host.

The main lectures are divided into three themes:

1. [Explaining Characters and Their Origins] Chinese characters with the 'right ear' radical (the city/yi radical): the original and extended meanings of characters such as 都 (capital), 部 (section), 邦 (nation), 郡 (commandery), 郊 (outskirts), 邻 (neighbor), 鄙 (borderland), 郭 (outer city wall), 郑 (a surname/state), 邢 (a surname/state), 郝 (a surname), 邓 (a surname), 郎 (gentleman), 郁 (lush), 邯 (a place name), 邪 (evil), and others. A series approach to learn similar characters with the same component in a logical way.

2. [Selected Classics Reading] Chapter 3 of the Tao Te Ching, revealing that only by letting go of forcefulness and discrimination can one return to essential harmony. Its core value is the wisdom of “governing by doing nothing” and principles for self-cultivation, denying disputes caused by deliberately parading talent, emphasizing simplifying motives and ensuring people's livelihood, so the populace returns to simplicity. By dissolving deceit and greed, restoring natural instincts, it proposes that the sage teaches without words, acts without deliberate interference, and follows the natural order, and thus all things transform on their own and the world is settled naturally.

3. [Historical Retrospective] An overview of the changes in the situation during the late Qing and early Republican periods, along with a summary of the dynastic transitions and brief introductions to founding rulers.
