(Seria, 27th) The Brunei Chinese Charity Association recently held its eighth board meeting, focusing on advancing the crematorium construction project and reviewing several internal and administrative matters. The meeting was presided over by the board, with each work group presenting reports on recent progress and upcoming plans.

During the meeting, the construction group delivered a special report on the crematorium's power supply project. According to technical requirements conveyed by the Electricity Department through the Department of Town and Country Planning, a dedicated substation must be added to the crematorium to meet the power demands of the furnaces.

After discussion, the board unanimously agreed that the construction group would take charge of appraisal, planning, and submitting relevant applications to the authorities regarding the substation, in order to ensure that the power facilities comply with regulations and are implemented as planned.

In terms of finance and administration, the secretariat reported that the board member directory had been updated and officially submitted to the Registry of Societies, with all necessary procedures completed.

The board indicated that the finance office would immediately begin the process of opening a dedicated charity association account with the Bank of China, and at the same time, formulate regulations for check signing and financial management. Since the crematory equipment is being supplied by a Chinese manufacturer, the new account will facilitate cross-border payment for subsequent procurement, further improving the efficiency of fund operations.

The meeting also heard a progress report on the approval of crematorium building plans. At present, all architectural designs have been submitted to relevant authorities for review, and have successively received positive feedback and cooperation from several related departments. Overall, the project is proceeding in an orderly manner according to plan.

To ensure the crematorium is properly managed after completion, the board decided to establish a crematorium management team, instructing the team to begin drafting usage management methods, including details on service procedures, fee standards, facility maintenance, and safety management, thus laying a solid foundation for future operations.

The Brunei Chinese Charity Association stated that it will continue to uphold its mission of serving the community and benefiting the Chinese community, making every effort to advance the crematorium construction plan, and continuously improving internal governance to ensure all affairs are conducted efficiently and transparently. Future progress will be announced to members and the public in a timely manner.
