(Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th) — The search and rescue operation for a man suspected to have gone missing following a crocodile attack at Kampong Baru Sungai Belait entered its third day yesterday, with rescuers continuing their water, land, and air search. As of now, there has been no trace of the missing person.

According to the Brunei Fire and Rescue Department, the search operation includes deploying fire and rescue department boats to patrol along the river and search riverbanks, as well as using drones for aerial surveillance to widen the search area.

The Royal Brunei Police Force also joined the operation, including officers from the Seria Police Station and the POLMAR (Police Marine) unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force, with additional support from the Wildlife Department.

Currently, the search operation is under the unified command of Senior Superintendent Amirulhadi, Operations Commander.

It is understood that the Fire and Rescue Department received a report on June 24th, stating that a man was suspected of being attacked by a crocodile.

The authorities then dispatched two fire trucks and nine firefighters to the scene, led by Acting Fire Station Chief Mohammad Zulkifli.

Upon arrival, the firefighters sought information from the family members. Preliminary investigations indicated that the missing man was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while fishing in the river and subsequently vanished.
