Johor PKR Vice Chairman Pan Weisi hopes that the Barisan Nasional (BN), which governs Johor alone, can open its doors to negotiate with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) to form a unity government in Johor.
He said it is crucial for PH and BN to form a unity government in Johor because it would allow PH to have representation within the Johor government.
He added that this would also ensure harmony among party grassroots and strengthen the cooperation between PH and BN.
Pan Weisi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tebrau, stated this today while attending the Johor PKR and Tebrau parliamentary constituency open house event.
"Johor PKR supports the statement of Johor PH Youth, hoping for the opportunity for Johor PH to participate in the state government as village heads or city councilors."
"For me, forming a unity government in Johor can be negotiated... we should not close the doors to negotiation."
He stated that Johor PH can also provide opinions and experience to the Johor government.
He emphasized that PKR’s suggestion does not imply that the current state government is not good, but with the inclusion of PH, it would become better.
Regarding the relationship between PH and BN in Johor, Pan Weisi stated that it depends on others' interpretations and perspectives.
"The current relationship between Johor PH and BN can be viewed from any angle... for me, there is still room for negotiation and cooperation."
