(Kuching, Dec 17) Sarawak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living director Matthew Dominic Barin emphasized that the Domestic Trade Bureau is not just an enforcement agency, it is also a part of the consumer sector and should continuously enhance consumer awareness and safeguard market order.
Therefore, he calls on all parties to join hands in tackling various issues in the market to ensure the order and harmony of Sarawak's business environment.
Speaking at the Sarawak Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Bureau media dinner last night, Matthew pointed out that the media is not only an important bridge for information dissemination but also a key force in promoting the protection of consumer rights.
He revealed that this year, the Sarawak Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Bureau organized several important events, including national conferences, gathering enforcement leaders to discuss strategies to address market issues. These events have received extensive media coverage, providing transparent and constructive information.
He said that the role of consumer heroes is very important in daily life and market supervision. Through their participation, market order has been effectively maintained, promoting fair trade.
