Do Mayday Only Sell Dreams? Ashin Fulfills a Joke with Jerry Yan After 13 Years

Mayday recently completed their 'Back to That Day' tour at the Taipei Dome, attracting 320,000 fans over 8 shows. During the song request segment at each concert, there were always some touching stories. Many fans shared how Mayday's music empowered them and helped them realize their dreams. However, there are always some internet skeptics who like to mock Mayday, saying they're nearly 50 yet still talk, sing, and sell dreams all the time.

But in fact, Mayday not only encourages fans to pursue their dreams through their songs, but the members themselves also work hard to achieve their own dreams. For the final show at the Taipei Dome, Mayday spent two years making the much-anticipated F4 reunion happen to perform 'Meteor Rain.' The moment moved both fans and global audiences, earning coverage by BBC, Japanese, and Southeast Asian media alike. The video received over 4.4 million views within three days and is now the second most trending clip on YouTube, highlighting the huge buzz triggered by F4's performance of 'Meteor Rain.'

Actually, there were several opportunities for Jerry Yan and Mayday to collaborate before. In the past, Ashin personally called Jerry, inviting him and Ariel Lin to star in a short film for Mayday's concert version of 'The Second Life,' to which Jerry agreed without pay. At the end of 2012, when Mayday held their 'Noah's Ark: Tomorrow's Reborn Edition' tour in Kaohsiung, they also invited Jerry Yan as a guest to sing 'Is it OK?' together, bringing the concert to its climax. Back then, Ashin joked, 'Can I join F4?' Never expecting that nearly 13 years later, Ashin's dream would finally come true—this time, standing center stage at the Dome, sharing the spotlight with F4 to sing both 'Meteor Rain' and 'Smile Forget Song,' truly realizing his dream.
