The DC superhero blockbuster 'Superman,' directed by visionary James Gunn, has recently set the global box office on fire. However, the film was heavily edited when released in India because of certain scenes.
According to sources from Bollywood, the Indian Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked distributors to delete two kissing scenes between Superman and the female lead Lois before the film's local release. In addition, they demanded the removal of an 8-second shot during the 'Green Lantern' battle in which a character gives the enemy the middle finger. In total, the censors required 41 seconds of footage to be cut, causing dissatisfaction among local fans.
In fact, this isn't the first time such edits have been requested. Back in 2015, the James Bond film 'Spectre' was also forced by Indian censors to remove half of the kissing scenes between James Bond and the 'Bond Girls' Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux due to their excessive length!
