Sheila Majid Celebrates 40 Years in Music: First Concert at Axiata Arena This November

Malaysian music legend and iconic diva Sheila Majid is celebrating her 40th debut anniversary, officially announcing that she will take the stage at Bukit Jalil Axiata Arena for the very first time on November 8, hosting the grand commemorative concert "Sheila Majid 40 Years in Music" to share timeless classics and heartfelt moments with her vast fanbase.

This year, the 60-year-old Sheila Majid is regarded as a trailblazer of Malay jazz and pop music. Establishing her place in the industry in the 1980s with signature hits such as "Sinaran" and "Legenda," and further cementing her legend in the 1990s with "Antara Anyer dan Jakarta," she has used music to shape the golden age of Malaysian pop culture. To this day, she remains beloved by all age groups. Over the past 40 years, her songs have accompanied generations, leaving an indelible mark in Malaysian music history.

Sheila Majid stated: “The ‘Sheila Majid 40 Years in Music’ concert is not only my personal journey, but a precious chapter written together with all the teams and audiences who have accompanied me along the way.” She expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to work hand in hand with countless talented musicians and behind-the-scenes professionals over the past 40 years, saying it is their dedication and support that has brought her to where she is today. “I hope to present my sincerest voice and most touching stage to everyone who has supported me.”

This concert will be not only the largest and most meaningful event in Sheila Majid’s career, but also a heartfelt musical retrospective spanning eras. The show will feature a dazzling visual design and a meticulously curated setlist tying together 40 years of her musical journey, allowing the audience to relive classic moments and travel through time in a single night.

Sheila Majid will once again team up with her longtime collaborators, including renowned Malaysian musicians Mac Chew, Jenny Chin, and concert producer Jennifer Thompson, to deliver an unparalleled music feast crafted by a top-tier production team.

The audience will get to relive classics such as "Sinaran," "Legenda," and "Antara Anyer dan Jakarta"—landmark tracks from the 80s and 90s that continue to move listeners, accompanying many through their youth and resonating across generations even today.
