U.S. network CBS reported on the 5th that a cargo ship in the Gulf region was suspected to have been hit by a land-based cruise missile, with multiple Filipino crew members injured.
The report, citing two anonymous U.S. officials, stated that the attacked cargo ship, the 'CGM Saint Antonio', is owned by a French company, and the incident occurred late at night on the 5th local time in the Gulf region.
Ship tracking data showed the vessel was still in the waters near Dubai, UAE, at noon on the 5th, but it is unclear if it left the area afterwards.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office earlier on the 5th said that reports had been received indicating that a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz had been hit by an unidentified projectile.
