Miri Lin Clan Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival with 350 Participants

The Miri Branch of the Lin Clan held a lively “Mid-Autumn Moon Reunion” event last night (15th September) at the third-floor hall of their association, organized by the Youth Group. The celebration attracted around 350 participants, young and old, making the event particularly meaningful.

During the gathering, newborn rewards were presented, and winners of the Miri District Academic Selection Competition and Sarawak Lin Carnival were recognized. Awards covered various categories including academics, singing, table tennis, and badminton. The atmosphere was festive, featuring performances, lantern displays by clan children, riddle guessing, and a creative lantern competition.

The Lin Clan Association recognized six newborns from September 2023 to August 2024, awarding prizes to Lin Hong'en (daughter Lin Zhiyuan), Lin Congteng (son Lin Guoyi), Lin Zhongyang (Lin Guangsheng), and Lin Hongtao (sons Lin Xiaoxi, Xiaojing, and Xiaochun).

The winners of the Best Creative Lantern competition were as follows:

  • Champion: Lin Siyuan
  • Runner-up: Lin Sheng'en
  • Third Place: Lin Licheng
  • Fourth Place: Lin Zhibin
The event showcased the works of 11 participants in the creative and eco-friendly lantern-making contest.

Photos captured the award winners proudly holding their lanterns alongside guests, including Women’s Group Chairperson Lin Li and President Lin Qiren, as well as Deputy President Lin Shuhua and Youth Group Leader Lin Zhaojie.

President Lin Qiren awarded the newborn prizes and academic awards to the young recipients throughout the event. The gathering concluded with a festive spirit, celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Lin family’s unity.
