On the 28th of this month, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Prime Datuk Seri Abang Zohari Tun Abang Haji Openg co-hosted the launch of the "My Beloved Sarawak" People’s Prosperity event, which attracted a large crowd.
During the event, 10 villages in the northern Sarawak region each received around RM100,000 in funding. The villages that received the grants include:
- JKKK Kampung Menjelin Sibuti, which was allocated RM99,500 for village ceremonial equipment rental and broadcasting equipment.
- JPKK Kampung Pemindahan Marudi in Bario, which received RM100,000 for infrastructure improvement and related needs for the Teratak Nur Ihsan homestay.
- JKKK Kampung Serampang in Luak, which was allocated RM100,000 for the coconut transportation vehicle rental project.
- JKKK Kampung Kuala Sibuti in Sibuti, which received RM100,000 for a boat rental project.
- JKKK Rumah Isa, Subis, which was granted RM100,000 for a poultry farming project involving broiler chickens and egg-laying hens.
- JKKK Kampung Keluru Jaya, which received RM99,800 for village ceremonial equipment, health equipment rental, and vending machine services.
- JKKK Kampung Pa Remapuh B in Bario, which received RM100,000 for vegetable and fruit planting, as well as fish and chicken farming projects.
- JKKK Kampung Belangsat in Luak, which received RM99,100 for event facility rental.
- JKKK Kampung Tok Dayan in Luak, which received RM100,000 for traditional costume and bark craft production projects.
- JKKK Kampung Long Nen, Telang Usan in Baram, which was granted RM100,000 for vegetable planting and ornamental plant projects through community green gardens.
Additionally, the special vehicle registration number series "PETRA" is now open for bidding, with the bidding period running from September 28 to October 2, 2024. The results will be announced on October 3, 2024. For details, visit: https://jpjebid.jpj.gov.my.
In the meantime, several health clinics in the Miri area are scheduled for repairs in 2024, including the Long Bemang Health Clinic, Tudan Health Clinic, and Suai Health Clinic. Clinics planned for repairs in 2025 include Mulu National Park Health Clinic, Long Loyang Health Clinic, Beluru Health Clinic, and Long Miri Health Clinic.
Also, students from the Chia Hua Chinese Primary School in Juba were present at the event, awaiting the Prime Minister’s autograph on their impressive STEM and AI projects from the 2024 Sarawak Regional Civilization Plan (PMR).
During the event, the Prime Minister and the Sarawak Prime also conducted a ceremonial unveiling of the "PETRA" vehicle registration numbers. Both leaders toured the exhibition booths, drawing a large crowd of onlookers. The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister were also photographed in front of a mural depicting ethnic diversity, and the Prime Minister signed the STEM and AI project displays. At the event, the Prime Minister stood and sang the national and state anthems with the attendees.
The event concluded with a group photo of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister with all the distinguished guests.
