(Bandar Seri Begawan, 29th) The Royal Brunei Police Force’s Bangar Police Station carried out two inspection operations in the Tutong district late at night on September 26 and early in the morning on September 27, successfully seizing various contraband items.
The first incident occurred at 11 pm on the 26th. Based on intelligence and surveillance results, Bangar Police officers spotted two suspicious vehicles in the Batang Tuau area. Police immediately intercepted the vehicles and detained two local men, aged 25 and 26. Upon inspection, police found 24 bottles of liquor, 53 cans of beer, and 80 cartons of cigarettes inside the car.
The second incident took place at 8 am on the 27th. Police received a tip-off about a suspicious package near the Tutong Sports Complex running track. Upon investigation, police discovered two abandoned boxes at the scene containing 100 cartons of cigarettes.
The suspects and seized items from both cases have all been handed over to the Royal Brunei Customs Department for further processing.
