LIMBANG: Close cooperation between the Federal and Sarawak governments continues to be an important driving force in strengthening the rural education agenda to ensure that quality education access can be enjoyed comprehensively by the people.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said political stability at both the federal and state levels has enabled various educational initiatives to be implemented more effectively, particularly those involving school infrastructure development, digital learning, and the welfare of students and teachers.
Fadhlina said the government is committed to ensuring that every education policy is translated down to the grassroots level so that the benefits can be felt by rural communities.
“With a stable government, we can ensure that various benefits and assistance can be channelled directly to the people,” she said in an UKAS report during the Parliament Follow-Up Programme (TSP) Series 1 for 2026 at SK Limpaku Pinang recently.
During the programme, a total of RM272,875.50 was allocated for quarters maintenance works, preschool improvement, and the upgrading of the school’s water tank.
In addition, a smart board was contributed by Yayasan Guru Tun Hussein Onn while 20 tablet units were provided by Yayasan Didik Negara to support students’ digital learning.
A total of RM10,000 was also allocated through the Digital Education Policy Professional Support Programme to enhance teachers’ competency in integrating technology into classroom learning.
At the same time, 33 sets of schooling assistance were distributed to students in need as part of efforts to ensure they do not fall behind in education.
She also expressed appreciation to the Sarawak government for its continued commitment in supporting educational development and ensuring children in the state receive better access to education regardless of location.
Also present was Deputy Transport Minister, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah.
