(Kuching, Jan 12) Recently, Sarawak Media Group issued a clarification statement regarding the arrest of its Sarawak Radio CEO by the police on suspicion of involvement in a nationwide money laundering case, stating that the incident is a personal issue and is unrelated to the group and Sarawak TV.
"Although we understand the concerns from all parties, we must clearly state that this matter is purely personal and has no connection with Sarawak Media Group and Sarawak TV."
Sarawak Media Group and Sarawak TV emphasized in a statement released through their official Facebook page yesterday that the group and TV will operate as usual.
“Sarawak Media Group and Sarawak TV always uphold the principle of fairness and will fully cooperate with the relevant authorities when necessary.”
The statement noted that if the public has any questions or requires further clarification about the incident, they are welcome to inquire through official channels to ensure the accuracy of the information.
“Sarawak Media Group and Sarawak TV are committed to upholding integrity, maintaining the trust of all stakeholders and the public. We will continue to closely monitor developments and provide more information when necessary.”
The statement emphasized that the spread of any false information or baseless accusations could seriously affect the group's reputation, and such actions will be taken seriously by the authorities.
