(USA, 12th) On the morning of the 12th, US Vice President Vance said at a press conference held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, that the US side has not yet reached consensus with Iran and will return to the United States.

Vance said: “We have now held 21 hours (of negotiations), with many substantive discussions with the Iranians. This is good news. The bad news is that we have not yet reached an agreement. I believe this is worse news for Iran than for the United States. We will return to America without having reached an agreement.”

Earlier, Iranian media reported that the negotiations between Iran and the United States had been extended for another day and would continue on the 12th. However, Vance later announced he would return to America.

According to information released by the Iranian government on social media, from the afternoon of the 11th to the early morning of the 12th, the US and Iran talked for 14 hours. Although some differences still exist, the negotiations will continue.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bagaei posted on social media platform X on the 12th that, over the past 24 hours, Iran and the US discussed multiple aspects of the main negotiation topics, including the Strait of Hormuz issue, the nuclear question, war reparations, lifting of sanctions, and ending wars against Iran and the region once and for all.

Bagaei said: “Whether this diplomatic process can succeed depends on whether the other party acts seriously and in good faith, avoids making excessive demands and illegal claims, and whether it can accept Iran’s legitimate rights.”
