According to a report by the Islamic Republic News Agency on the 26th, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba stated that Iran's support for the 'Resistance Front' is a 'strategic mission'.
Mojtaba emphasized that, according to the policies set by Iran’s late Supreme Leader Khamenei, Iran regards defending Lebanon as its strategic mission, 'Preserving Lebanon’s territorial integrity, and a complete and unconditional cessation of the Zionist regime’s aggression, remain the primary conditions to end this war.'
According to official data from Lebanon, since March 2, 2026, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in 4,330 deaths and 12,236 injuries.
On June 26, Lebanon and Israel, under U.S. mediation, signed a framework agreement stipulating that Israel would withdraw its troops in phases from all occupied Lebanese territories, but the agreement does not contain a timetable for the withdrawal. Instead, the agreement links the completion of the withdrawal process to the Lebanese army’s full assumption of security responsibilities in the areas vacated by Israeli forces, as well as the disarmament of armed groups, including Hezbollah.
