(Japan, 15th) – A knife attack occurred around midnight on the 15th local time in Dotonbori, Chuo Ward, Osaka City, Japan, resulting in one death and two injuries.
The police stated that they received multiple emergency calls at the time of the incident, reporting that "several people had been stabbed." Upon arriving at the scene, the police found three men injured, one of whom was unconscious. The suspect is believed to have known the victims and fled the scene after committing the crime.
However, according to a report by the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), the suspect was later arrested by the police.
It is reported that the suspect is in his 20s, while the deceased was only 17 years old.
An eyewitness stated that just after coming out of a restaurant, they suddenly heard screaming at the scene, turned their head and saw someone lying on the ground, while people around were panicked and hurriedly calling the police.
Dotonbori is located in the center of Osaka City and is a famous tourist and commercial district that is usually very crowded.
