US President Trump stated in a social media post on the 25th that he will send US Special Envoy for Middle East Issues, Whitkoff, to the Russian capital Moscow to meet with Russian President Putin, in hopes of finalizing a peace plan aimed at ending the Ukraine crisis.
He indicated that the 28-point new plan drafted by the US side has been "fine-tuned," with only a few remaining points of disagreement. US Secretary of the Army Driscoll will also meet with the Ukrainian side.
He looks forward to meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky and Putin as soon as possible, but only on the condition that an "agreement to end the war" has already been finalized or has entered its final stage.
Additionally, White House Press Secretary Levitt said in a social media post on the 25th that the US-led peace efforts have made "tremendous progress," though some "thorny but not insurmountable" details still need to be resolved, which will require further negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the US.
