A woman in Thailand, suspecting her husband of cheating, conspired with two male colleagues to install an explosive device on the alleged mistress's car in an attempt to kill her. Fortunately, the device failed to fully detonate, resulting only in minor damage to the vehicle and the arrest of all three suspects.

According to Thai media outlet The Thaiger, the incident occurred on the morning of December 24 last year, when local police received a report from a woman stating that an explosive device had fallen off her car onto the road, exploded with a loud bang, and emitted sparks.

Police then dispatched a bomb disposal unit to the scene for investigation. Law enforcement found that the device was a homemade, improvised explosive constructed of four glass bottles, but only one bottle actually exploded.

Investigators stated that the device had been installed on the vehicle’s fuel tank and was intended to be triggered by a remote control. However, the device failed to fully detonate, resulting in only minor vehicle damage and leaving the woman unharmed.

The police subsequently identified three suspects: 38-year-old Kasama, 34-year-old Songkit, and 34-year-old Thinawat. The trio were arrested in Chonburi province and Rayong province on Wednesday (February 25).

Police seized multiple pieces of evidence from the suspects’ residences, including a remote control suspected to be linked to the explosive device, vehicles used in the crime, and 20 additional items.

Kasama confessed that she found her husband unfaithful and identified the female victim as his mistress. Police said she hired two male colleagues to help execute her revenge plot, instructing Thinawat to clandestinely install a tracker on the victim's car.

Police stated that Kasama and Songkit learned how to make homemade explosive devices via YouTube and drove to the victim’s residence to install the bomb. The vehicle used in the crime was a rental car with a fake license plate.

In addition to facing charges of attempted murder, the trio have also been charged with committing an act of explosion endangering others or property and illegal possession of explosive devices.
