US Government Immigration Enforcement Officers Shoot and Kill Woman

On the 7th, U.S. federal law enforcement personnel shot and killed a woman during an immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota, sparking significant public attention.

On the 7th, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security stated that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel were carrying out an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when "a suspect attempted to ram law enforcement officers with her car." One of the officers "fired in self-defense," the suspect was shot and killed, and the officer was injured.

However, videos circulating on social media show a law enforcement officer approaching a car stopped in the middle of the road, demanding the driver open the door. The car then began to move, and another officer standing in front of the car fired at close range into the vehicle. The vehicle then lost control and crashed into other cars on the side of the road.

According to U.S. media reports, the deceased was a 37-year-old U.S. citizen and Minnesota resident named Good.
After the incident, people protested ICE at a candlelight vigil.
Reports said that at the time of the incident, law enforcement personnel had already been confronting protesters for several hours. After the shooting, local residents gathered on the streets to protest, chanted slogans, and threw snowballs at law enforcement. Officers responded to the protesters with pepper spray and tear gas.

U.S. federal agencies are carrying out the "largest-ever" immigration enforcement operation in Minnesota, with over 2,000 law enforcement personnel participating. Since early December last year, ICE has arrested about 1,400 people in Minneapolis.

Trump Says Officers Acted in Self-Defense

U.S. President Trump stated on social media that the woman who was shot and killed was a "professional agitator" who obstructed and resisted law enforcement, and then "violently, deliberately, and viciously ran over" ICE personnel. He said the officers "clearly fired in self-defense."

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Noem also stated that the woman who was killed was a "violent rioter," calling her actions "domestic terrorism," and accused her of "weaponizing her vehicle" and attempting to run over and kill law enforcement personnel.

On the other hand, Minnesota Governor Walz told reporters that the event was the result of a "dangerous and provocative law enforcement operation" by the federal government.

Walz ordered the state National Guard to be prepared for possible deployment and called on local residents to remain calm and not be "provoked by the Trump administration."
