(Kuching, 22nd) The First Sarawak Province Tailors Association officially announced that after the election process, the new board of directors for the term 2025-2026 has been successfully formed. The new board promises to continue promoting the development of the tailoring industry, strengthen exchanges and cooperation among members, and lead the industry towards innovation and modernization.

Re-elected President Eddy Chang stated that in the face of ever-changing fashion trends, the tailoring industry must blend modern innovative elements on top of traditional craftsmanship to create tailoring art with unique characteristics.

“Traditional tailoring art carries a profound cultural heritage. The skills passed down through generations not only reflect craftsmanship but also an understanding and expression of aesthetics. We must cherish this tradition and make it a foundation for innovation.”

He pointed out that in today's rapidly changing market demands, the tailoring industry relying solely on traditional skills can no longer meet the diverse needs of consumers. Therefore, introducing modern technology is crucial, such as using digital design, 3D printing technology to enhance manufacturing processes. Simultaneously, combining popular trends and trying new materials and styles can make products more fashionable and competitive in the market.

Eddy Chang suggested that the association can organize creative workshops, inviting designers and tech experts to exchange and collaborate, and regularly hold exhibitions for members to showcase innovative works, learn from each other, and grow together. He hopes that with the joint efforts of all members, they can inject new vitality into the industry, making the combination of tradition and modernity the key to business success and a model of cultural inheritance and innovation.

“The true value of the association is not just in individual economic benefits but in creating collective influence. We need to unite, actively participate in association activities, and jointly embrace opportunities and challenges to advance the industry.”
