Korea’s “Face Genius” Cha Eun-woo, who enlisted at the end of July last year, is expected to be discharged at the end of January next year. Earlier this year, he was rocked by a tax evasion scandal, which dealt a heavy blow to his image. He subsequently issued two apologies and, in April this year, paid about 13 billion KRW (approximately 37.55 million MYR) in back taxes. Recently, he has also filed an appeal, claiming the tax assessment was unfair.
Currently serving in the military band, recent “four-panel life” photos of him with his comrades, all wearing military uniforms, have been circulating online and sparked heated discussion. In the photos, Cha Eun-woo and his fellow soldiers strike a variety of playful poses for the camera, even donning animal-shaped headbands and flashing bright smiles, seemingly having moved past the shadow of the tax evasion controversy. However, some netizens noted that his face appears rounder than before enlisting, feeling that he is not as handsome as he once was.
