Youth Imitates 'Superman' Pose While Riding Personal Mobility Device — Dangerous Riding Criticized by Netizens

(Singapore, 24th) — A teenager was captured on video along Keppel Road posing in a Superman posture while speeding on a personal mobility device (PMD) on the road. The dangerous act has drawn criticism from netizens.

According to a video shared by netizen YX on Instagram, the incident is believed to have taken place near Keppel MRT Station.
The video shows a teenager dressed in a white top, black shorts, and carrying a backpack, stretching both legs in the air and leaning forward in a 'Superman' pose while riding in the middle lane of the road.

It can be seen that he was not wearing a helmet. Afterwards, he smoothly switched to the far left lane and was traveling at considerable speed, at one point overtaking at least two cars.

The netizen who uploaded the video wrote in the post, "We have a Singaporean 'Superman.'"

The video quickly went viral online and sparked heated discussion. Some netizens believe that such dangerous behavior is becoming more common and hope relevant authorities will address the issue instead of waiting for an accident to happen before taking action.

Other netizens criticized the teenager for "playing with his life," saying it not only endangered himself but could also affect the safety of other road users.
According to regulations, personal mobility devices are not allowed to be ridden on public roads. Violators can be fined up to $2,000, imprisoned for up to three months, or both.

To crack down on offending cyclists and improper use of personal mobility devices, the Land Transport Authority conducted several enforcement operations in April this year, taking action against over 360 violations and seizing nearly 120 non-compliant personal mobility devices.
