(Bandar Seri Begawan, 13th) Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity and community welfare by sponsoring a digital education program for children with autism, code-named “Embracing Differences.”

The program was launched at the Autism Association clubhouse and was officiated by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC), Mohd Nazri.

Representing BIBD at the event were Norhayati and Nuhaliza from BIBD's Government Relations and Special Projects Department.

This is part of the bank’s community outreach program under “Embracing Differences,” which has launched a tailored digital education platform to enhance the academic, social, and communication skills of children with autism.

This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UN SDG) 3, promoting mental and emotional health and well-being through tailored educational support.

BIBD’s sponsorship includes providing the necessary equipment and software to enable inclusive and accessible education for children with autism, reflecting its alignment with UN SDG 4, which emphasizes quality education for all. By ensuring that children with disabilities have access to the tools and resources needed for success, the program also supports UN SDG 10, aiming to reduce inequalities and promote equal opportunities for children of all abilities.

Head of Brunei Government Relations and Special Projects at BIBD, Mohd Yusri said, “In Brunei, we believe in creating opportunities for success for all children, regardless of their circumstances. Through initiatives like these, we continue to incorporate education, digital innovation, and inclusivity as part of our broader commitment to giving back to society. Supporting the mental and physical well-being of the community is an indispensable part of our vision for building a sustainable future for Brunei.

“Besides contributing to Brunei's Digital Economy Masterplan 2025, this project also supports the national aspirations under Brunei Vision 2035 by providing digital literacy skills essential for future employment and daily life for children with autism.”

Brunei remains committed to establishing partnerships that drive impactful initiatives, ensuring every member of society has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to national progress.
