US Vice President Vance fiercely criticized Israeli figures dissatisfied with the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, stating 'Trump is your only ally.'
According to various foreign media reports, Vance was defending the deal reached this week, which is aimed at ending the war with Iran. American and Israeli critics argue that the agreement fails to curb Iran’s missile program, does not present a clear method for dismantling Iranian nuclear facilities, and also restricts Israeli military actions against Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.
Trump has recently criticized long-time ally Israel on multiple occasions, heightening tensions between the two countries.
At a White House press conference, when asked about reports that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was furious about the deal, Vance said he had not heard such remarks from Netanyahu, but he criticized Netanyahu’s cabinet members, saying these individuals not only attacked the agreement but also launched attacks against Trump.
Vance said: 'I want to tell them two things. First: At this very moment, Trump is the only national leader in the world who sympathizes with Israel... If I were a member of the Israeli cabinet, I would absolutely not attack my only strong ally in the entire world.'
The US currently provides Israel with about $4 billion a year in military aid, and the two countries are negotiating a new aid agreement.
Vance pointed out: 'Israel’s problem is not Trump. Anyone in Israel who thinks the US president is their biggest problem needs to wake up and recognize the real situation the country is facing.'
