(Bandar Seri Begawan, 26th) The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (KKBS), through its Community Development Department (JAPEM), together with Brunei-Muara District Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), held the 2026 Orphan Donation Ceremony at the Dar Al-Intisar Hall, Jerudong Sports Complex.
Distinguished guests attending the event and distributing aid included the Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of BIBD Board, Dato Awang Haji Ahmaddin, as well as the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Nazmi.
At the ceremony, BIBD's Excellent Student Award Program was also arranged. This year, a total of 12 orphans were given encouragement awards for outstanding results in the 2025 'O' Level Exams, Brunei Higher Religious Education Certificate (STPUB), Brunei Religious Education Certificate (SPUB), and Primary School Assessment (PSR).
Subsequently, the guest of honor distributed donations to 3,061 orphans registered with JAPEM, of which 1,998 were registered under the Brunei and Muara District Office; 479 orphans from Tutong District; 446 from Belait District; and 138 from Temburong District.
The total donation amount from the Community Development Department was BND 306,100.00. The total donation from the Orphan Fund of the Brunei-Muara District Office was BND 61,220.00, and BIBD's total donation was BND 153,050.00.
