(Cyberjaya, 3rd) In the case of the female university student who was murdered in her dormitory, police have received approval to extend the detention of the three suspects a second time, until next Thursday (the 10th), to assist in the investigation.
At 10:28 am on the 24th of last month, Manisha Pari, a 20-year-old Sikh female university student from Sarawak who was studying at a university in Cyberjaya, was found dead in her dormitory unit, with a wound on the back of her head and a bruise around her right eye.
Police swiftly launched an investigation upon receiving the report, and an autopsy confirmed that the cause of death was a blunt force trauma to the head, with no signs of sexual assault on the body.
After the incident, police conducted cross-state arrests in Johor Bahru and Taman Remanji, Negeri Sembilan, apprehending two women and the boyfriend of the victim’s roommate (aged 19 to 20).
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code (murder).
