Mohamad Hasan: UMNO's Stay in Government is a Temporary Measure, Continues to Advocate for Malay and Bumiputera Agenda

(Kuala Lumpur, 16th) UMNO Deputy President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan stated that UMNO's continued presence in the government is a temporary measure designed to continue advocating for the Malay and Bumiputera agenda.
Mohamad Hasan, who is also the Member of Parliament for Rembau, mentioned on Sunday (15th) during the opening ceremony of the UMNO Cheras division representatives meeting that the top leaders of the party are carrying out the aforementioned agenda, including the party president, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid.
He continued to say that this is also why Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid leads the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) efforts under the Human Resources Ministry.
"Many people would ask, why don't we leave the government now? If we leave now, within two hours we will be replaced by other parties, and we don't want to be outsiders on the sidelines, thus it's better for us to stay in the government where we can formulate new agendas and adjust according to changing times."
"Taking TVET as an example, we took over because many Malay children have dropped out of school, not just failing exams, but not participating in exams at all. Therefore, we need to create new platforms for them, which is why we established the National TVET and the National Religious Policy."
Mohamad Hasan added that UMNO is actively strengthening itself to cope with the increasingly complex and changing political landscape, focusing on strategic cooperation and planning to win in the 16th General Election.
"We are still reinforcing the party, consolidating ourselves because we fell into difficulties in 2022, and the current politics cannot remain rigid since no party worldwide can form a government alone. Try to find any party or country where this is the case; there isn't. The era of a single party forming a government is over."
"So what should we do? This is the reason we study which areas have winning potential now. Although we have 192 divisions, we still need to take pragmatic political steps instead of idealism, as that could mislead and sweep us away."
He also expressed pride in maintaining harmony and stability within UMNO.
