On the 10th, Kevin Hassett, Director of the White House National Economic Council, stated in an interview with Fox Business News Channel that the Strait of Hormuz is expected to resume navigation within the next two months. The US has already prepared contingency plans regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
When asked whether the Strait of Hormuz could be reopened and oil transportation restored within two months, he replied, “Yes.”
He stated: “We have high expectations for this. We have sent teams to Pakistan to negotiate with the Iranian side, and at the same time, if necessary, we also have contingency plans.”
Hassett pointed out that although there are currently ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, the traffic volume is only about 10% of normal levels.
He predicted that once the strait resumes navigation, energy prices will drop rapidly.
