3 Deaths Reported at Florida Disney World in 10 Days—‘The Happiest Place on Earth’ Cast Into Shadow

In the past two weeks, three deaths have been reported at Disney World in Florida, USA, casting a shadow over the “Happiest Place on Earth.” The most recent incident was revealed on the 23rd, when a man was found dead at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, but details on the cause and time of death have yet to be disclosed.

According to the New York Post, TikTok videos showed that a section of the Contemporary Resort had been cordoned off, with many police officers and paramedics present. The medical examiner’s office confirmed the death, but did not disclose the cause. Some netizens posted on social media: “A cast member knocked on our door asking us not to look out the balcony window. I don’t know if someone jumped or accidentally fell, but clearly something happened.”

Pregnant Superfan Died by Suicide Earlier

This marks the third death at Orlando Disney World since October. One Disney superfan, who had come to Disney World for her honeymoon after getting married last year, announced her pregnancy two months later. However, on October 14, she was found dead at the Contemporary Resort, reportedly after falling from a height. Police determined there was no foul play.

On October 21, a man in his 60s collapsed at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and died at the hospital. The incident was reportedly not suspicious.

In July this year, a man was found unconscious at the resort and was pronounced dead at the scene, suspected to have died by suicide.

Resort Hotels Become Suicide Hotspots

The Contemporary Resort is one of the most iconic hotels in Disney World, with nightly rates starting at $1,000 (about 4,225 ringgit). It connects to the Magic Kingdom and other hotels, and guests can dine or take photos with classic characters in themed restaurants. However, this 14-story luxury resort has also become a place for some to spend their final moments.

According to the New York Post, some people suffering from severe depression choose to end their lives at the 14-story Contemporary Resort after enjoying their last moments of happiness at Disney. Disney responds rapidly to such tragedies to prevent distress among other guests, so the public is unaware of just how many dark incidents actually occur at the “Happiest Place on Earth.”
