(Kuching, 8th) The first Asia Pacific Aerospace Conference & Exhibition (APACE 2026) to be held in Sarawak is regarded as a significant milestone in Sarawak's efforts to establish itself as a rapidly emerging aerospace and aviation hub in the Asia Pacific region.
APACE 2026 will take place from January 27 to 29 this year at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), organized by the Sarawak Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) in collaboration with Borneo Business Connect Sdn Bhd, and supported by the Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak).

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari said that holding this event demonstrates the Sarawak government's strategic focus on leveraging the state's geographic advantages and strengthening its role in the regional aerospace value chain.
He said Sarawak intends to use its strategic location to transform the state into a regional aerospace hub, particularly in the fields of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), as well as aerospace component manufacturing.
"Talent development is a crucial element," he noted in a statement today.
To this end, APACE 2026 will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, academics, and global players to foster cooperation, innovation, and talent development within the aerospace and aviation ecosystem.

The conference is expected to attract over 3,000 visitors, including 1,000 delegates, 50 exhibitors, and 60 speakers, with a total of 50 conference sessions. It is also anticipated that up to 12 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed to support the growth of Sarawak’s aerospace industry.
The event will reach its climax on January 27 with the official launch ceremony of APACE 2026, officiated by Abang Johari, symbolizing a significant moment in Sarawak's pursuit to realize its vision of becoming a regional aerospace hub.
Sarawak Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Seri Roland Sagah pointed out that APACE 2026 is aligned with Sarawak’s long-term development agenda.
He said the conference will invite speakers and representatives from many renowned international, regional, and local institutions, including Novaspace, NACO, NAICO, Malaysia Airports Holdings, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Siemens AG, Turkish Aerospace, PwC, Malaysia Space Agency (MYSA), Sarawak Skills, Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), SpaceIn Sdn Bhd, and Kolej Universiti Teknologi iCATS.
