(Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th) The Brunei Tourism Development Department recently held the five-day KNK Carnival at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas, with the event running until the 29th of this month. The event aims to promote the development of the domestic tourism industry, support local businesses, and provide the public with a platform to explore various travel packages and unique experiences in Brunei.

The KNK Carnival is being held in conjunction with the 31st Annual Consumer Fair to enhance public participation and event exposure. This year, more than 10 travel agencies, tourism service providers, and accommodation providers are participating, offering over 50 local tourism packages.

The main recommended tourism projects include: the “River to City” tour, Temburong Wasai Bedanu jungle adventure, Sungai Teraban cultural experience tour, as well as river cruises. These carefully curated packages are not only entertaining but also showcase the diverse culture and natural charm of Brunei, encouraging the public to experience the beauty of the nation.

During the carnival, a variety of interactive activities are also featured, including cultural performances by various Village Consultative Councils (MPK), traditional food cooking demonstrations, tourism quizzes, and lucky draws, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The Tourism Board encourages the public to actively participate in the KNK Carnival, take advantage of various on-site tourism promotions, and support local tourism practitioners. Visitors can collect the “National Tourism Carnival Handbook” at the event, which details domestic tourism packages and exclusive offers provided by local hotels, travel service providers, and tour operators.

The Tourism Development Department reiterated its commitment to continue promoting domestic tourism as a key pillar of the national economy. Through projects such as the “National Tourism Day” and events like the KNK Carnival, the department aims to encourage the public to learn about and appreciate Brunei’s rich cultural heritage and natural resources, thus nurturing a sustainable local tourism ecosystem.
