If Conflict Erupts with Russia, Over 800,000 NATO Troops to Deploy to Eastern Flank via Germany

Commander of the NATO Joint Support and Enabling Command and Commander of the German Bundeswehr Operations Command, Lieutenant General Sollfrank, stated that if a conflict with Russia were to erupt, more than 800,000 troops and equipment from NATO countries could be deployed to the eastern flank via Germany in the shortest possible time.

At the Bundeswehr's annual conference in Berlin recently, he pointed out that in the event of a conflict, Germany would become NATO's key logistics hub, and the deployment must be completed within 180 days after the outbreak of hostilities.

He stated that NATO is fully aware that if the deployment of alliance forces is obstructed, delayed, or poorly coordinated, deterrence against Russia will fail.

He warned that although the war in Ukraine is still ongoing, Russia's military potential remains very strong and it is capable of launching limited attacks against NATO.

German Defense Minister Pistorius said that it is not alarmist to say the German public is currently in danger.
