(Miri, 12th) The Riam Village Security and Development Committee, Riam Recreation Club, Riam Elderly Club, Riam Sisters Association, and Riam Youth Sports Club have decided, after a meeting discussion, to cancel this year's New Year Gala scheduled for the 22nd of this month (Saturday) at 6 PM at the Dato Lee Tan Yuk Hall, Riam Secondary School, to cope with the current severe disaster situation. The decision aims to better utilize resources to assist affected communities and support post-disaster reconstruction and recovery.
According to the organizing committee representative, the funds initially planned for the event will be fully donated to relevant relief organizations to support the restoration of lives and the reconstruction of infrastructure in the affected areas.
The organizing committee deeply apologizes for any inconvenience the cancellation may cause the public, and sincerely thanks everyone for their understanding and support. At the same time, the committee extends New Year greetings to all citizens, wishing you health and prosperity in the new year.
In the face of disaster, unity and mutual aid become especially important. It is hoped that this benevolent act can bring warmth and hope to those affected by the disaster.
