(Bandar Seri Begawan, 28th) The inaugural Borneo Red Wolf Challenge Cup—Brunei, Sarawak, and Sabah Borneo Male & Female Veterans Hokkien and Mandarin Singing Open Finals is scheduled to take place at 6:30 pm, August 22, at the 8th floor of the Mulia Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan.

This event is jointly organized by [Red Wolf Media & Culture], [Xin Yuan Records Entertainment Production], and [Flying Voices]. A memorandum of cooperation signing ceremony was held this morning at the GuanNian Group meeting room, witnessed by GuanNian Group General Manager Bao Pingsheng. Chairman Yang Zhensheng of [Red Wolf Media & Culture], Chairman Yang Zhenglan of [Xin Yuan Records Entertainment Production], and Chairman Yang Daomin of [Flying Voices] signed the memorandum together. Hong Zhiqing, Yang Daosheng, Wu Qingquan, Weng Yuanyou, and Hou Chunxi were also in attendance.

At the press conference, Yang Zhensheng stated that this jointly organized event is a highlight of the 2026 "Three Goats Bring Fortune" program, and warmly invites all male and female singers over 40 years old across Borneo to join the competition and perform in Hokkien or Mandarin. The guest of honor for the finals will be acclaimed Malaysian singer Mr. Qiao Hua.

12 Finalists Selected from Each Region
The organizing committee will head to Sabah and Sarawak to select 12 outstanding singers each, along with 12 veteran finalists from the Brunei audition, to compete for the top 12 spots in the finals. Preliminary auditions will be held in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah), Miri (Sarawak), and Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei) between June and July. Each region has open registration with no participant limit, but Brunei participants must hold a valid work permit. Exact audition dates for the three regions will be announced separately.

Eligibility & Entry Fee
Contestants must be at least 40 years old, fill out the original entry form, attach one photo and the entry fee in cash, and submit it to Competition Director Yang Daosheng (Tel: 7113266) during auditions. Entry fee is BND60 per person for Brunei auditions, and MYR180 per person for Malaysia auditions. Entry fees are non-refundable if a registered participant withdraws.

Attractive Cash Prizes Await You
The finals offer generous cash prizes: Champion BND1,500, Runner-up BND1,000, Third Place BND800, Fourth Place BND600, plus 8 Merit Awards of BND100 each, Best Stage Presence Award and Best Costume Award of BND100 each.

Contestants must check in at the venue by 5:30 pm on the day. A karaoke machine will be provided, or singers may bring their own song selection on a USB drive—DVDs are not accepted. There is no restriction on song choice; either Hokkien or Mandarin songs may be performed, but song selection cannot be changed once confirmed. Five judges will be invited to ensure comprehensive, open, and fair scoring.
