(Kuching, 15th) The boxers from Joe's Boxing Academy (JAB) under the Sibu Boxing Excellence Centre of the Sarawak Sports Corporation showcased outstanding performance at the 2025 National Golden Gloves Youth Boxing Championship (Men’s and Women’s categories) recently held at the National Boxing Training Center in the Negeri Sembilan National Sports Council Complex Stadium.
Led by Zulkarnain Majidi and Saiuddin Julaihi, the team won a total of 5 medals—1 gold, 2 silvers, and 2 bronzes.
The gold medal was claimed by Anna Valentine Tie in the Girls' Youth 52kg category, while the silver medals were awarded to Janessa Jayet Marcus (Girls' Youth 48kg category) and Anderton Tie Texk Hieng (Boys' Youth 86kg category).
The bronze medals were secured by Hextor Azmi Anak Donny (Boys' Youth 54kg category) and Riq Anak Roland (Boys' Youth 60kg category).
The championship was held over 7 days, from May 4th to 10th.
JAB secretary Zulkarnain Jemat was pleasantly surprised by the boxers' excellent performances during the competition and highly commended their achievements.
He said it is an achievement to be proud of and provides these boxers with early competition experience.
“This is an early preparation for selecting outstanding boxers to represent Sarawak in the Malaysian Games (SUKMA) to be held in Selangor in 2026,”
