(Bandar Seri Begawan, 28th) A delegation from the Brunei Young Entrepreneurs Association visited China’s Qinghai Province from the 21st to the 25th of this month to participate in the 12th ASEAN-China Youth Leaders Exchange Festival. They represented Brunei in regional youth exchanges and further promoted sustainable development, innovation, and cross-regional cooperation.
The Brunei delegation participated in the event upon invitation from the Brunei-China Friendship Association. Delegation members included Brunei Young Entrepreneurs Association representatives Wu Zhiwei, Izdihar Sulaiman, and Ahmad Fauzi, as well as academic representatives Zhang Minghui and Dr. Norul Amalina Suparlan.
The exchange festival was organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and gathered new-generation youth leaders from ASEAN countries and China. The event enabled participants to exchange ideas, strengthen cross-cultural connections, and explore future cooperation opportunities.
During the event, the delegation was also scheduled to meet with the President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, as well as the Governor and Vice Governor of Qinghai Province. Discussions focused on green development and cooperation between ASEAN and China.
One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the world’s largest solar photovoltaic power generation base, allowing the delegation to gain firsthand understanding of how large-scale renewable energy projects are driving China’s low-carbon transformation.
The delegation also visited the National Grid Smart Grid Dispatch and Control Center to learn how advanced digital technology and artificial intelligence assist in managing one of the world’s most advanced renewable energy networks.
The exchange also arranged for the delegation to visit several natural and cultural attractions in Qinghai, including Qinghai Lake and Kanbula UNESCO Global Geopark, allowing the delegation to further appreciate the local region’s significant ecological value and rich cultural heritage.
This exchange allowed the Brunei Young Entrepreneurs Association to gain in-depth knowledge on renewable energy, digital innovation, and regional cooperation development, while also strengthening ties with youth leaders from ASEAN and China.
