Chinese Female Internet Celebrity Who Once Smashed Guan Yin Statue Dies in Car Accident

Chinese female online celebrity "Jiang Xiaorou," who had over a million followers, was recently reported to have died tragically in a serious car accident at the young age of 24.

According to ETTODAY, a past video of her "furiously smashing a Guan Yin statue" once stirred up controversy online. Now that she has suddenly died in a car accident, some netizens have resurfaced the old video and made comments about "karma" and retribution.

However, there is no factual evidence to confirm any connection between the two events.

This young influencer from Lanshan County, Yongzhou, Hunan Province, mainly produced content on supernatural exploration, debunking superstitions, and strange curiosities, amassing around 1.28 million followers on short video platforms.

According to various Chinese media reports, Jiang Xiaorou's real surname is Li, and in the early morning of July 15th, she was returning from Guangxi to Guangzhou when she was involved in a serious traffic accident and was subsequently rushed to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University for emergency treatment.

According to circulated medical records, her injuries at the time were extremely severe, including hemorrhagic shock, severe brain damage, and multiple organ dysfunction. She fell into a deep coma, required ventilator support, and received treatment in the intensive care unit.

What’s even more heartbreaking is that after the accident, Ms. Li's mother posted online seeking help, saying her daughter suffered a major car accident, the medical costs were overwhelming, and the family could not afford it.

Her home village also reached out to help. After the local charity association received the family's application for medical aid, they provided a 2,000 RMB relief fund.

By August 10, a staff member of the ICU department at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University confirmed that the 24-year-old Ms. Li did receive treatment at the hospital, but she was no longer there.

Later that afternoon, a village official from her hometown confirmed the sad news—Ms. Li had unfortunately passed away.

Jiang Xiaorou's content was quite controversial during her lifetime. She would often explore abandoned buildings for so-called supernatural adventures and produced bizarre videos such as testing out paranormal games.

Currently, her short video account "Jiang Xiaorou Ya"'s last video remains from July 9th.

From an online celebrity with a million followers to now an account stopped on her last video, the sudden end to a young life at age 24 has shocked and saddened many netizens.
