Barber Take Over美髮盛會 提供青年技能與創業平台

(本报美里5日讯)“Barber Take Over美发盛会”即日起在美里游客资讯中心隆重揭幕,并将持续至6月8日。这项活动为青年与社会大众提供一个深入了解理发、美发艺术与技术型创业(TVET)世界的机会。

这项为期五天的活动每日从中午12时至晚上11时举行,内容丰富多元,包括理发竞技赛(Barber Battle)、美发与剪发工作坊、免费剪发服务及企业展览摊位等。

其中,最受瞩目的“理发竞技赛”吸引来自砂拉越、沙巴、汶莱及吉隆坡近50名理发师参赛,争夺总值8000令吉的奖金,展现精湛技艺与创意。

此外,主办单位也安排了8位专业理发师为公众提供为期5天、共100人的免费剪发服务,参与单位包括K24、Hair2day、Kiyahe、Gras、Gustar、Barberyenshop、Tok Man's 及 Yann Barbershop等知名理发店。

为了鼓励更多青年投身TVET领域,现场也设有实操型工作坊,教授理发造型与创业技巧,帮助有兴趣从事美发行业的青年建立基础技能与职业路径。

与此同时,超过15个本地商家摊位也参与展览,展示多样化产品与服务,营造热闹的市集氛围,进一步促进社区经济活力。

本活动获得砂拉越土著企业家商会(DUBS)美里分会及MYSED的战略合作支持。

砂拉越土著企业家商会美里分会主席莫哈末哈菲兹(Mohammad Hafidz Rohani)表示,此类活动不仅有助于提升技术技能发展,也为青年提供了探索创业领域的契机。

他指出,目前政府通过砂拉越经济发展机构(SEDC)推出多项支援计划,如GERAK与USTEV拨款,专为有意创业的技术型青年提供资金援助。
DUBS美里亦承诺协助会员申请相关拨款,共同推动地方技术人才及企业成长。

Barber Take Over Event Brings Style, Skills, and Start-Up Spirit to Miri

Miri, 4 June 2025 – The Barber Take Over Event officially kicks off today and will run until 8 

June 2025 at the Miri Visitor Information Centre, offering a dynamic platform for youth and the 

community to explore the art of barbering, grooming, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the 

technical (TVET) field.

Happening daily from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the event features an exciting line-up of activities 

including:

A thrilling Barber Battle competition, gathering nearly 50 participants from Sarawak, Sabah, 

Brunei, and Kuala Lumpur, all vying for a total prize pool of RM8,000.

Free haircuts for 100 individuals, provided by a team of 8 professional barbers over the five-

day event.

Hands-on grooming and haircutting workshops led by local stylists and barbers, aimed at 

inspiring and equipping youth with practical skills in the barbering industry.

More than 15 booths and exhibitions by local entrepreneurs, showcasing products and services in 

a vibrant community bazaar setting.


Organised by Posh Work, led by Pn Siti Hawa Sarkawi, this event is made possible through 

strategic partnerships with Dewan Usahawan Bumiputera Sarawak (DUBS) Miri Branch and MYSED.

In his officiating speech, Mohammad Hafidz Rohani, Chairman of DUBS Miri, praised the initiative 

and encouraged more youth to get involved in both technical training and entrepreneurship. He 

highlighted the availability of various government grants under SEDC, such as GERAK and USTEV, 

which are open to youths actively participating in technical-based programs like this.

DUBS Miri has also expressed its commitment to assist members who are keen to apply for these 

grants, further supporting the growth of local talent and businesses.

The Barber Take Over Event is a celebration of creativity, community, and career-building — 

empowering the younger generation through skill-based exposure, entrepreneurial insight, and 

local collaboration.
