At Kuji Port in Iwate Prefecture, a 1.3-meter-high tsunami was observed on the afternoon of the 30th, and various coastal areas in Japan have also recorded tsunamis ranging from 10 centimeters to 60 centimeters in height.

According to NHK, citing Meteorological Agency data at 2:58 pm local time, Kuji Port in Iwate Prefecture observed a 1.3-meter-high tsunami at 1:52 pm (12:52 pm Malaysia time). Earlier, Kuji Port and Hamanaka Town in Hokkaido recorded tsunami waves of 60 centimeters.

At Ishinomaki Port in Miyagi Prefecture, Erimo Town and Nemuro City in Hokkaido, Hiroo Town's Tokachi Port in Hokkaido, Soma Port in Fukushima Prefecture, Hachinohe Port in Aomori Prefecture, and Hachijojima under the jurisdiction of Tokyo, 50-centimeter-high tsunami waves have been observed in succession.

Areas that recorded tsunami waves of 40 centimeters include Tomakomai East Port in Hokkaido, Onahama Port in Iwaki City in Fukushima Prefecture, Oarai Port in Ibaraki Prefecture, Sendai Port in Miyagi Prefecture, and others.

Yokohama Port in Kanagawa Prefecture, Choshi City in Chiba Prefecture, Kashima Port in Ibaraki Prefecture, Miyazaki Port in Miyazaki Prefecture, Kumano City in Mie Prefecture, Miyako Port and Ofunato Port in Iwate Prefecture, and Kushiro Port in Hokkaido each recorded tsunami waves of 30 centimeters.

In Harumi area in Tokyo, Chiba Port in Chiba Prefecture, Kamaishi Port in Iwate Prefecture, Tosashimizu City in Kochi Prefecture, some areas in Miyazaki Prefecture, and Kominato area on Amami Oshima, tsunami waves of 20 centimeters have been recorded.

In addition, Yokosuka Port in Kanagawa Prefecture, Minami Town and Komatsushima Port in Tokushima Prefecture, Saiki City in Oita Prefecture, and Gushikawa Port in Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture, have each recorded tsunami waves of 10 centimeters.

Over 1.9 Million People in Japan Receive Evacuation Instructions

Meanwhile, according to Japan's Fire and Disaster Management Agency, as of 12:30 pm, Urakawa Town in Hokkaido had issued the highest alert level, "Emergency Safety Assurance," to 4,982 households, a total of 10,463 people, instructing immediate evacuation.

In addition, mainly in areas along the Pacific Coast from Hokkaido to Okinawa Prefecture, a total of 921,166 households, amounting to 1,905,596 people, have received the next-highest alert level, "Evacuation Instruction." The scope covers 21 regions and a total of 207 cities, towns, and villages.
