US President Trump stated on the 29th that the final deadline for Russia and Ukraine to reach a peace agreement has been set at 10 days, starting from that day. If the Russian side does not make progress on this, it will face new US sanctions.
He made these remarks while returning home during an interview with reporters accompanying him on the presidential aircraft Air Force One.
He said that it is uncertain whether the imposition of tariffs and other sanctions will be effective against Russia.
He pointed out that he has not yet received a response from the Russian side regarding the deadline he set. “I haven’t received any reply yet. It’s really unfortunate.”
On the 14th, Trump had previously threatened that if Russia and Ukraine failed to reach a peace agreement within 50 days, the US would impose “very severe” tariffs on Russia.
