This accident occurred in the early hours of April 21, at the section of the road leading from Port Klang to Jalan Kim Chuan. According to preliminary police investigation, a Perodua Axia car, traveling normally, was suddenly struck by a large group of motorcyclists, suspected of running a red light, coming from the opposite lane.
From the viral video, it is evident that there was a large gathering of motorcyclists, suspected to be part of an illegal racing group, on the opposite lane. While the green light for right turn was still on in the upper left corner, an Axia car was slowly turning right, unexpectedly facing a large number of motorcycles speeding forward, leading to a severe accident. Several overturned motorcycles could be seen on the road afterward.
Although the original video footage shifted at the moment of chaos, making it momentarily unclear whether the car was hit or the motorcycles overturned while trying to evade, the police have confirmed after the incident that the car was struck by several motorcycles.
Assistant Superintendent Ramli, the Chief of Klang South Police District, pointed out that in the crash, one motorcyclist died on the spot, aged only 22; two others were critically injured and have been urgently sent to Klang Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for treatment.
The police are calling for witnesses to come forward and assist in investigating the truth of the incident, especially whether the motorcyclists collectively violated the red light.
